Excited to welcome the first Scottish performance by James Rushford & Joe Talia – two distinctive and exploratory voices in the contemporary Australian underground. Drawing upon strategies from contemporary composition, music concrete and improvisation, they weave together greyscale electronics, dehumanized drum machines, amorphous vocal fragments, domestic detritus and sundry devices into a clouded, submerged narrative fabric. The event will open with a diffusion of new, unreleased work by Jean-Marie Massou, made up from a recorded a series of vocal sketches, field recordings, loops and montages made during his daily routine. La Belle Brute – a team of artists and recording engineers who work closely in collaboration with Massou – will be here to diffuse the work.
