The Glad Community Choir

Published

23/02/2015

The Glad Community Choir was started by Alexis Stearns and Rory Haye in the autumn of 2012. Based in the Southside’s vibrant, Glad Cafe, and numbering 60 – 80 members of all ages, the choir has sung a hugely varied repertoire, traditional and contemporary alike, taking in Moondog, Sacred Harp, Purcell, Ravel, Judee Sill, and Bacharach/ David, and are currently working on songs by Ivor Cutler. The choir has also recently recorded with Errors, Bill Wells & Aidan Moffat, and Meilyr Jones. At Counterflows, 20 members of the choir will perform a version of Lin Chiwei’s Tape Music Series.
